Le Chat and Mr Bird
stood at the edge of the street,
where the city hummed in tired loops
of clocks, coins, and closing doors.
They counted what they had—
not much, but enough—
every saved moment,
every quiet hope folded into a pocket.
“Let’s go,” said Mr Bird,
his red coat catching the light.
Le Chat nodded,
already dreaming in silence.
They left behind the noise,
the windows that never slept,
the days that rushed past
without saying hello.
With everything they’d saved,
they bought a small forever:
a place where mornings arrived slowly,
where laughter had room to stretch.
Paradise wasn’t grand—
just sky, warmth,
and time that listened.
A shared sun. A shared pause.
They sat together, saying nothing,
because nothing was missing.
What they owned now
